Preparing your documents early can make your overseas job application process much easier.
Different employers and job positions may require different documents, but candidates should generally keep their basic identification, education and employment records ready.
The first important document is your passport. Make sure the personal details are correct and that the passport is in good condition.
You should also prepare an updated resume or CV. Your resume should clearly mention your work experience, job titles, companies worked for, responsibilities, technical skills and contact information.
Candidates should keep copies of their education certificates where applicable. Technical workers may also need trade certificates, licences or skill certificates depending on the position.
If you already have work experience, prepare your experience certificates or other supporting employment documents. These can help employers verify your previous work background.
A recent passport-size photograph may also be requested during certain stages of recruitment.
Useful documents to keep ready include:
- Updated resume
- Education certificates
- 10th Marksheet
- 12th Marksheet
- Diplomo / Degree Certificate
- RMI / Avvanz if Degree finished
- Experience certificates
- Trade or technical certificates
- Passport ( Front & Back )
- Driving licence, when relevant
- Previous overseas employment records, when applicable
Do not submit false, edited or misleading documents. Document verification can be an important part of overseas recruitment.
Also remember that submitting documents does not automatically mean that a job or work pass has been approved. Employers and relevant authorities may have additional requirements depending on the job.
Careers Planet Tip: Keep clear scanned copies of your important documents on your phone or email so you can provide them quickly when required.
Confirm the vacancy, job duties, salary, work-pass process and employer terms before making a decision. An application is not a guaranteed placement.
